Privacy policy

In short

• The website (zoostats.app) sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts.
• The app (ZooStats for macOS) reads system metrics on your machine and never sends them anywhere.
• Purchases are processed by Polar (our merchant of record). Polar receives the data needed to take payment and deliver the file. We receive your email and the order line items.
• We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for marketing purposes.

Who we are

The data controller is Black Bao Studio, based in Alicante, Spain. Postal address and tax identifiers are listed in the imprint. For privacy questions, write to privacy@zoostats.app.

What the website collects

zoostats.app is a static site served from GitHub Pages. We do not run server-side code; we do not set cookies; we do not include analytics, ad networks, social-media trackers, or any third-party scripts. GitHub, as the hosting provider, may receive standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, request timestamp) for the purpose of serving the page and protecting against abuse, in accordance with GitHub's privacy practices. Those logs are not shared with us.

What the app collects

ZooStats reads system statistics on your Mac via Apple system APIs (host_processor_info, vm_statistics64, IOReport, getifaddrs) and renders them in the menu bar. The app does not transmit those readings off your machine. There is no telemetry, no crash-reporting service, and no analytics SDK linked into the binary.

Pack purchase records are stored locally inside the app's Application Support directory after install. We do not run a license server; the app does not call home to validate purchases at runtime.

What we collect at checkout

When you buy an asset pack, our merchant of record (Polar Software, Inc.) processes the payment and collects the data necessary to do so: your email address, billing country, the price and items in your order, and any payment-method details required by their card processor (we never see card numbers). Polar may collect IP and user agent for fraud prevention. Polar's privacy policy is at polar.sh/legal/privacy.

Polar shares the following with us: your email address, the order line items, the order amount, and a unique order identifier. We use this to deliver the file (by email link) and to honour refund requests. We retain the record for the legally-required period (six years for tax purposes under Spanish law).

Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete the data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@zoostats.app from the email address on the order. We respond within 30 days as required by GDPR Art. 12.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos) or your local supervisory authority.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we update the "last updated" date and, where the change affects existing customers, send a notice to the email on the order. Previous versions are available on request to privacy@zoostats.app.
